Ways to support Troup/Chambers/Randolph County Habitat for Humanity

Since 1991, many have donated generously to our local Habitat for Humanity Affiliate. Donors have provided the financial resources needed to build  homes for over 400 friends, families and neighbours in Troup, Chambers and Randolph Counties. We are only able to provide affordable homeownership opportunities to qualified, working families through the continued support of our donors.  To reach our ambitious building and homebuyer education goals, we continually enlist the support and financial commitment of caring individuals, public and private foundations, businesses, churches, schools and civic groups.  Generous donations from the surrounding community provide our most significant revenue stream.

There are many ways to support your local Habitat Affiliate:

Every Donation Helps Create Life-Changing Moments . This can be done a variety  of ways. Shop and donate at the Habitat ReStore, 333 Main Street LaGrange.  The Habitat ReStore accepts new and used building-related materials from contractors, suppliers, individuals, remodelers and property managers. Some materials are used directly in the construction of Habitat homes, but most are offered to the general public to purchase at reduced prices.  Please note materials and items donated qualify for a tax receipt. All proceeds from the ReStore are used to fund Troup/Chambers/Randolph County Habitat building projects.

From corporations, to faith-based organizations, to foundations and individuals, Troup/Chambers/Randolph County Habitat for Humanity relies on the generous support of its House Sponsors. Consider how your organization can partner with us!

Habitat could not build without its volunteers. In fact, it takes  $50,000 and 2000 volunteer hours to build just one home. That doesn’t include those involved in our day to day operations, fundraising, deconstruction projects and theReStore. Volunteers construct houses, serve on committees, file, give presentations to groups, provide office assistance and more. This gift of time saves thousands of dollars in labour costs which can be passed onto various Habitat projects in the community.  Volunteers range from students to retirees, from skilled trades people to weekend do-it-yourselfers, from church and synagogue members to co-workers from large and small businesses.  The common thread is the desire to take part in something BIG – to help build affordable quality homes for qualified working families. No matter what your skills, we will match you where you can best serve. You must be 16 years of age or older to volunteer on a construction site. Please note  there are other volunteer opportunities for younger ones who want to help.

To volunteer at Habitat for Humanity all it takes is a desire to make a difference in the lives of families.
